Book title: The Vegetarian Times Cookbook [-]
Author: Herbert Leavy
Posted October 12, 2001

This is an older book, but it is still available in bookstores, so I thought some comments might be helpful.

This is the first vegetarian cookbook I ever owned. I'm really glad that I bought a second one, or else I might not have reduced my meat intake (I'm not a vegetarian, but I only eat meat about twice a week).

The recipes in this book are complicated and require a lot of special ingredients that can be intimidating to the uninitiated. I had never heard of tahini before buying this book -- I know what it is now, but a glossary would have been really helpful to me back then. The ingredient lists are usually long, with 8-10 items in each dish. It really isn't an "everyday" cookbook. I suppose it might be useful if you were having a dinner party and wanted to cook some special vegetarian meals.
