Book title: Antarctica: The Last Continent [+]
Author: Kim Heacox Posted October 12, 2001 I really enjoyed this book. It has interesting chapters on the physical geography, exploration, and fauna of Antarctica. But why do people read National Geographic books? It's not for the text, it's for the pictures. And this book has breathtaking pictures of Antarctica, including several pages of historic photos taken during the early days of Antarctic exploration. I think I learned some of the basics about Antarctica's geography and history, but this book is by no means exhaustive. For the neophyte it is a good introduction, but no more. |
