Book title: The (In)Complete Sherlock Holmes, volume one [+]
Author: Arthur Conan Doyle
Posted February 20, 2002

Well, really, what other rating did you expect me to give the Sherlock Holmes stories? I've never read them before, so I quite enjoyed them. I've read all the short stories in volume one, up to Holmes' "death." I found Doyle's ability to make the impossible plausible fascinating, and most of the stories are believable if one accepts Holmes' abilities at face value.

I had to stop though. I was overwhelmed with minutia and detail, and feeling a bit dragged down. I look forward to reading the novels and the remaining stories sometime in the future. Just not now.
