Book title: The Rest of the Robots
Author: Isaac Asimov Posted July 05, 2002 I've been reading robot stories. Why? I am very anxious right now – work is quite stressful, and I'm finishing my dissertation revisions. So I turned to comforting read for my before-bed reading. I own a hardcover version of this book. It was published in 1964 and includes all the short stories collected in The Rest of the Robots plus the first two Lije Baily books -- Caves of Steel and Naked Sun. While the stories are certainly archaic, the logic of these stories is fun and inescapable. This falls into the small category of books that I can't really review. Asimov's robot stories are like old friends. You might drift away from them over time, and your interests might have changed, but getting together with them from time to time is so comforting, so right, that it is hard to evaluate them objectively. |
