Book title: The Cat Who Talked Turkey [-]*
Author: Lillian Jackson Braun
Posted March 11, 2004

This is the worst of the Cat who... series so far. I keep saying that I am going to stop reading this series, but now it might stick.

I can't even really tell you what this book is about -- there's a murder, Polly is opening a bookstore, and the cats do cute things -- but there is no coherent narrative thread that holds the story together. It's written like a series of bullet points, which works in some settings, but not in fiction. The characters have the same pointless conversations over and over again about the same pointless topics, and the murder is resolved, although through no action of the main characters.

This time, I think I'm really done. This book was terrible.
